(Walnut, CA) Host Mt. San Antonio College (7-11) rolled to its third consecutive victory with a 5-1 non-conference win over Santa Barbara City College (12-6) on Thursday, March 9. The Mounties scored all their runs by the end of the third inning.
Top offensive performances for Mt. SAC included Alex Reynozo (2-4, 2 RBI), Damien Delgadillo (1-3, 2 RBI), Gibby Morales (1-3, RBI), and CJ Ontiveros (1-3, R, 3B). Delgadillo and Reynozo also stole bases in the winning effort.
Throwing 3.2 innings, starter Ray Northey (3-2) picked up the win for the Mounties, allowing one run (earned) while striking out two. Trent Merrill struck out five in 3.1 innings of relief.
The concluding game of the series will take place in Walnut on Saturday, March 11, at 6 p.m. Mt. SAC will resume South Coast Conference play at Rio Hondo College (11-8, 5-2) on Tuesday, March 14, at 2:30 p.m.
