(Walnut, CA) After more than a week of weather-related postponements, the Mt. San Antonio College Baseball team returned to action on Thursday, March 2, only to fall short, 6-1, in a South Coast Conference game against visiting Long Beach City College (5-10, 1-0).
The Mounties (4-9, 0-1) held a 1-0 lead through four innings, but it was all Vikings from there. Damien Delgadillo (2-2, R), Alex Reynozo (1-2), and Elijah Pelayo (1-3, RBI) led the Mt. SAC offensive effort.
Starter Michael Flores fell to 1-2 on the season, pitching six innings, allowing four runs (two earned), and striking out seven.
The teams will square off again in a doubleheader on Saturday, March 4, in Long Beach at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
