Strong pitching, offense lift Mt. SAC Baseball to non-conference win over San Bernardino

(Walnut, CA) Mt. San Antonio College (3-0) scored early and often, then cruised to an 8-2 non-conference win over visiting San Bernardino Valley College (1-1) on Tuesday, Jan. 31. The Mounties scored two in the first, three in the second, and led 7-0 before the Wolverines scored a run in the top of the eighth.

Joel Quemada (2-2, R, 2 RBI, 2B, SB), Jose Marquez (1-1, R, 2B), Travis Hobbensiefken (1-1, 3 RBI), Michael Flores (2-3, R, RBI), Elijah Pelayo (1-2, R, RBI), and Damien Delgadillo (1-3, R) helped lead Mt. SAC's offensive attack.

Throwing five scoreless innings, starter Joey Peralta (1-0) earned the win for the Mounties, striking out seven while allowing just two hits and no walks.

Next up, Mt. SAC hits the road for a non-conference game at Fullerton College (2-0) on Thursday, Feb. 2, at 1 p.m.
