Baseball: Mt. SAC defeats El Camino to remain atop SCC standings, runs win streak to 10

(Torrance, CA) With a 6-3 win over El Camino College (28-10, 16-6) on Tuesday, April 26, Mt. San Antonio College (31-7, 18-4) remained on top of the South Coast Conference standings with a one-game lead over Long Beach City College (26-12, 17-5) with two games remaining in the regular season. The loss dropped El Camino to two games behind the Mounties.

Trailing 2-0 through three, Mt. SAC posted two runs in the fourth, two in the fifth, and two more in the eighth to seal the win.

Michael Flores ran his record to 11-1 on the season, pitching eight innings, allowing three runs (all earned), and striking out three. Reliever Cristian Enriquez struck out the side in the bottom of the ninth to get the save, his fourth of the season.

CJ Ontiveros (2-4, R, 2 RBI), Will Bermudez (2-4, Nin Burns II (1-4, 2 R), Blake Borgogno (1-4, R, 2 RBI, HR), and Enriquez (1-3, 2 RBI) helped lead the Mounties' offensive attack.

Game 2 of the three-game series with El Camino is on Thursday, April 28, in Walnut at 2:30 p.m. and Game 3 on Friday, April 29, in Torrance at 2:30 p.m.
