Baseball closes out three-game sweep of East L.A.

(Monterey Park, CA) Mt. San Antonio College (24-7, 14-4) broke a 4-4 tie with three runs in the top of the seventh, then held on to claim an 8-6 series-concluding victory against East Los Angeles College (15-17, 11-10) on Saturday, April 9. The win keeps the Mounties tied for first in the SCC with Pasadena City College (25-7, 14-4).

Several players performed well offensively for Mt. SAC, including Brent Cota (3-4, R), CJ Ontiveros (3-5, 2 R, RBI, 2B), Will Bermudez (2-5, R, RBI, 2B), Nin Burns II (2-5, RBI), Damien Delgadillo (2-5, R, RBI, SB), and Elijah Pelayo (2-5, 3 RBI, 2B).

The Mounties will take a break from SCC play with a two-game non-conference series against Citrus College (15-17). Game 1 will be in Glendora on Tuesday, April 12, at 2 p.m., and Game 2 in Walnut on Thursday, April 14, at 6 p.m. Mt. SAC will also host Ventura College (17-14) on Saturday, April 16, at 6 p.m. before resuming conference play on Tuesday, April 19.
