Baseball defeats East L.A. to remain tied for first in SCC standings

(Walnut, CA) Host Mt. San Antonio College (23-7, 13-4) handed East Los Angeles College (15-16, 11-9) a 10-5 South Coast Conference defeat on Thursday, April 7, in the second of a three-game series. The win keeps the Mounties tied with Pasadena City College (24-7, 13-4) for first place in the SCC standings.

Mt. SAC struck early against the Huskies, taking an 8-1 lead through three innings, then cruising to the win.

Elijah Pelayo (3-3, R, RBI, 2B, SB), Blake Borgogno (3-4, R, 3 RBI, 3B), Cristian Enriquez (2-4, R), Damien Delgadillo (1-3, 2 R, RBI), Art Ruiz (1-3, R, 2 RBI, HR), Brent Cota (1-4, R, RBI, 2B), and Jose Marquez (1-4, R, RBI, 3B) helped spark the Mountie offense.

Starter Jeffery Isenhart (5-0) remained unbeaten this season, throwing five innings, allowing one run (unearned), and striking out three.

The teams will conclude their three-game series in Monterey Park on Saturday, April 9, at 12 p.m.
