Baseball drops second in a row with loss to Riverside

(Walnut, CA) Trailing 7-4 through six, Riverside College (8-1) scored four in the top of the seventh to take an 8-7 lead, then tacked on four more in the top of the ninth to down host Mt. San Antonio College (6-2) by the score of 12-7 on Saturday, Feb. 12.

Top hitters for the Mounties included Elijah Pelayo (2-4, R, 2B) and Jacob Moreno (2-4, R, 2 RBI, HR). Mt. SAC also tallied four stolen bases, which included one each for Pelayo, Blake Borgogno, Cristian Enriquez, and Nin Burns II.

Reliever Anthony Corrales (1-1) got the loss for the Mounties, pitching 0.2 innings while allowing two earned runs. Starter Brian Park threw three innings, allowing one earned run while striking out three.

Mt. SAC will host Los Angeles Pierce College (2-5) on Tuesday, Feb. 15, at 6 p.m.
