Come-from-behind extra-inning win against Fullerton keeps Baseball undefeated

(Walnut, CA) Host Mt. San Antonio College came from behind three times against Fullerton College (5-2) on Tuesday, Feb. 8, before earning a 4-3 win in 10 innings to remain unbeaten.

Trailing 3-2 in the bottom of the ninth, the Mounties (6-0) tied the score on a double by Blake Borgogno (1-2, RBI) that scored Elijah Pelayo (1-4, R, 2B, SB) and sent the game into extra innings. After a scoreless top half of the inning, pinch hitter Jacob Moreno (1-1, R) started the bottom of the 10th with a double, then advanced to third on a throwing error by the Hornets' catcher. A walk-off single by CJ Ontiveros (2-5, RBI) scored Moreno and gave Mt. SAC the win.

Reliever Anthony Corrales (1-0) got the win for the Mounties, throwing one inning, allowing no runs, and striking out one. Corrales was the fifth of five Mt. SAC pitchers who took the mound on the day. Starter Jeffery Isenhart pitched five innings, allowed no earned runs, and struck out four.

The Mounties travel to Fullerton for a rematch on Thursday, Feb. 10, at 2 p.m.
