Mounties blanked by Santa Ana, doubleheader rematch next

(Santa Ana, CA) Following a 13-4 setback to Mt. SAC (4-6) on Tuesday, host Santa Ana (7-3) returned the favor with an 8-0 win over the Mounties on Thursday, April 29.

As a team, Mt. SAC only tallied four hits, with Hector Almarez (1-1), Sebastian Garcia (1-2), Jason Flores (1-4), and Blake Borgogno (1-4) accounting for them.

Pitching 2.2 innings, Mountie starter Manny Casillas (0-1) got the loss, striking out two, and surrendering four earned runs on six hits.

Mt. SAC will host the third and fourth games of the four-game series between the teams on Friday, April 30. The first game is slated for 2 p.m. and the second for 5 p.m. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, no spectators will be allowed.
