(Walnut, CA) A seven-run third inning and five-run seventh lifted host Mt. SAC (2-0) to a 15-1 win over Imperial Valley College on Saturday, Jan. 25.
Several Mounties performed well at the plate, including Ryan Williams (2-3, RBI, R), Albert Luevano (2-3, RBI, 2B), Cole Jordan (2-5, 2 RBI, 2 R, 2B), and Cameron White (2-5, 3 RBI, 2 R, HR). Jordan also had a pair of stolen bases and Art Ruiz (1-1, 2 RBI, 2 R) homered in the third.
Mt. SAC used six pitchers on the day, but it was starter Diego Barrera (1-0) who got the win, throwing four innings, allowing no runs, while striking out six.
The Mounties will face Fullerton (0-1) on Tuesday, Jan. 28, at 2 p.m.
