(Walnut, CA) Following an 11-2 win at East Los Angeles on Tuesday, Mt. SAC (21-17, 13-8) returned to Art Mazmanian Field on Thursday to host the second of a three-game series with the Huskies (16-22-1, 9-11-1). The visitors prevailed, 3-0, in the South Coast Conference contest, setting up a must-win scenario for the Mounties heading into Friday's regular-season and SCC finale.

Currently, Mt. SAC is a half-game behind Pasadena (24-13, 14-8) in the SCC North Division standings. A win on Friday would tie the Mounties and Lancers at 14-8 in the division, but would give Mt. SAC the title and a playoff berth by virtue of its 2-1 record against Pasadena this season. A Mountie loss on Friday would give the Lancers the division crown outright.

Dylan Zavala (1-for-1), Caleb Eills (1-for-3), Jacob Dominguez (1-for-2), and Omar Veloz (1-for-4, 2B) were the top batters for the Mounties on Thursday against East L.A., while Tyus Santa Anna stole a base in the losing effort.

Starter Tyler Hazlett (2-2) suffered the loss for Mt. SAC, throwing four innings while striking out four. Christian Longoria kept the Huskies scoreless in five innings of relief.

Friday's fate-deciding game at East L.A. will begin at 6 p.m.
