Bring on the Playoffs! Mt. SAC Baseball Defeats ELAC 7-3 in Final SCC Game; Mounties host SBCC in Best of Three

(Walnut, CA) The Mt. SAC Baseball Team finished the regular season as it started. With a win! In between, the Mounties completed their most successful season in five years with a 29-11 overall record. The final win in the regular season came against East Los Angeles College 6-3 at Mazmanian Field in a South Coast Conference North game Saturday.

The Mounties finished conference action with a 17-5 record, four games ahead of ELAC.

The Mounties received the No. 4 seed and will host No. 13 Santa Barbara City College (20-20) on Friday May 4 at 2:00 p.m. in a best of three series. Game two will follow Saturday, May 5 at 11:00 am and if necessary game is at 3:00 pm following game two.

The winner will advance to the CCCAA Round 2.

In the 6-3 win over the Huskies, Mt SAC was led by a three-hit performance by right fielder Elijah Greene (3 for 4, 2R, HR, RBI), Brandon Bradshaw (2 for 4, RBI, Dbl.) and designated hitter Nic Sandoval (2 for 3, R).

Picking up his fourth win of the season was starter Zach Bromstead (4-0).

With the score tied 2-2 in the fifth inning, shortstop Anthony Walters (1 for 3, R, 3 RBIs, 2 BB) gave the Mounties a 5-2 lead with a three-run home run, scoring Greene and Sandoval.

They added an insurance run for a 6-2 lead in the seventh inning with a double by Bradshaw, scoring Ryon Knowles (1 for 3, R, BB).
