Mt. SAC’s Six Game Win Streak Snapped by PCC 7-6; Comeback Falls Short

(Walnut, CA) Riding a six-game winning streak, the Mt. SAC Baseball Team fell to Pasadena City College 7-6 in a South Coast Conference North game Friday night at Mazmanian Field.

The Mounties, trailing 7-2, came alive in the seventh with four runs to climb back into the game, 7-6.

Highlighting the inning was a two-run double by designated hitter Anthony Walters (2-5, R, 2 RBIs), scoring shortstop Elijah Zaragoza (1-4, R) and left fielder Nic Sandoval (1-1, R) to trail 7-4.

Second baseman Ryon Knowles (2-3, 2 R, RBI, Tpl.) knocked in the fifth run on a ground out, scoring right fielder Elijah Greene (2-5, R, Dbl.) and catcher Chris Sandberg (2-3, 2 RBIs, Sac) singled in Walters to trail 7-6.

The Mounties will now travel back to Pasadena for the third and final game of the series on Saturday March 24th at noon.
