Mt. SAC Rallies to Defeat Orange Coast College,10-8

(Costa Mesa, CA) The Mt. SAC Baseball team, trailing by six runs in the fifth inning, scored six runs to tie the game and added two more runs in the eighth inning to come-from-behind and defeat host Orange Coast College, 10-8.  The Mounties totaled 14 hits in the Friday afternoon nonconference game.

Shortstop Anthony Walters (4-5, 4 R, 2 RBIs, HR, Dbl) had four hits and right fielder Elijah Greene (2-3, R, RBI, Dbl) extended his hitting streak to eight games, which helped lead the Mounties (5-3).

Two other Mounties – Ryon Knowles (3-6, 2 R, Dbl) and Chris Sandberg (2-5, RBI, Tpl) – also multiple hits.

Mountie pitcher Zach Bromstead picked up his first collegiate win (three innings of relief) allowing two hits and striking out five Pirate batters.

Steven Ordorica pitched the ninth inning for his first save of the season.
