(Long Beach, CA) In the first round of the South Coast Conference pairs competition at Long Beach City College, four of the five Mt. SAC Beach Volleyball pairs teams pulled off wins on Friday (April 29) to advance to the second round the next day.
In the second round, the season came to an end as all five pairs lost, but as a team they still competed in the CCCAA So Cal Regionals.
In the first-round wins, two of Mt. SAC's pairs wins were upsets as the teams of Alicia Patterson and Savanna Corrales, seeded No. 17, defeated Long Beach's No. 16 team of Caleyse Saunders and Pearlnaiah Tuliau.
In addition, Mt. SAC's pairs, Victoria Arnold and Kylie Rhodes seeded No. 22, upset Rio Hondo's 11th seeded pair of Ariel Garcia and Faith Wada.
Thirty pairs competed at the two-day conference finals.
