Mt. SAC shuts out Santa Ana 4-0
The Mounties kept the Dons off the board to advance to the semifinals.
BAKERSFIELD - The Southern California #1 seed Mt. San Antonio College Mounties played stubborn defense and shut out Santa Ana, 4-0 to advance to tomorrow's CCCAA Softball Tournament semifinals.
The Mounties will take on the #1 seed from Nothern California the College of San Mateo Bulldogs. Santa Ana plays Sierra in an elimination game today.
Mt. SAC scored off six hits in the win. Alyssa Gonzalez led her squad with a two-run double to left field that scored Asia Chacon and Mikenna Barcelona to extend the Mounties' lead to 3-0 in the third inning. Chacon added an insurance run the following inning when she drove in Emily Barba with a single down the left-field line. Chacon finished the game with two hits.

Annemarie Martinez got the Mounties on the board in the first inning with a single to left-center that plated Desiree Bravo. Barba and Bravo each added a stolen base.
Despite the loss, Santa Ana Pitcher Emily Rosas put on an outstanding performance. She struck out 12 batters with just one walk in her outing. Her 12 strikeouts placed her season total at a CCCAA-leading 312 strikeouts for the season.
Jojo Westerfield led Santa Ana with two hits.
