Men's Water Polo: Vikings rout Mt. SAC 19-2 for South Coast Conference championship

The Long Beach City College men's water polo team captured its 13th conference title over the past 15 years thanks to an impressive 19-2 win over Mt. San Antonio College in the championship final of the South Coast Conference tournament on Saturday at Mt. SAC.

The defending state champion Vikings are 21-2 overall and have won 16 straight games. According to LBCC head coach Chris Oeding, the Viking men will likely receive the No. 2 seed for next week's (Nov. 12-15) Southern California Regional Championships at Citrus College.

Long Beach began its postseason run with a 22-4 rout over Chaffey College on Thursday in the semifinals. Sophomore Damian Amdrigal (Servite HS) led LBCC with four goals and sophomore Blake Grove (Newport Harbor HS) added three goals. Sophomore goalies Dustin Boren (Wilson HS) and Noah Borim (Vista Murrieta HS) combined for 12 saves.
