Long Beach City College has lost just four games this season, unfortunately three of them have come against South Coast Conference rival Mt. San Antonio College. LBCC couldn't hold a first-half lead and fell 61-50 on Friday to the Mounties in Walnut in a SCC interdivision game.

Long Beach, ranked No. 3 in this week's Southern California poll, closed out the second quarter with a 16-0 run to take a 33-29 halftime lead over the second-ranked Mounties.

But LBCC went cold in the second half, getting outscored by Mt. SAC 32-17 over the final two quarters.

Freshman Ayerjenee Jeanmard (Poly HS) led the Vikings with 15 points and added seven rebounds. Sophomore Imani Johnson (Carson HS) chipped in with 12 points and six rebounds while Lupe Cruz (South East HS) had a team-best eight rebounds to go with four points.

Aliz'e Lofton led Mt. SAC (19-1) with 16 points.

Long Beach will look to bounce back from its latest setback on Wednesday (Jan. 20) at 5 p.m. when the Vikings host LA Southwest College in their South Coast Conference South Division opener.
