One day earlier, the Cerritos College women's basketball team jumped out to a big first half lead to propel them to victory at the Fullerton Tournament. In their semifinal game against South Coast Conference rival Mt. San Antonio, the Falcons (6-7) trailed by 13 points at intermission, which resulted in a 58-43 loss. The setback puts the team in the third place game at 5:00 p.m. on Monday against the host Hornets.

Cerritos shot well in the first half (41%), but the Mounties (12-3) were successful on 52% of their shots, as they took nine more attempts and converted seven more than the Falcons. Trailing by as many as 18 points in the second half (46-28), the team went on a 10-2 run and got to within 49-38 with 9:11 left in the game. But that would be as close as the team could get, as the team held the Mounties to just 23 points in the second half.

Sophomore Alii Salone (Gahr HS) was the lone Cerritos player to score in double-figures, as she accounted for 11 points, with freshman Selena Romero (Lakewood HS) adding eight points and eight rebounds. The Falcons turned the ball over 25 times in the game, which resulted in 20 Mt. SAC points.
