With over 20 years of basketball experience, Malcom Sims joins the Mt. SAC Men's Basketball Staff for 2020-2021 season, as an assistant coach.  Before arriving at Mt. SAC, Sims coached at the community college level at Saddleback College ('18-'20).  While with the Gauchos, he helped the team captured back to back Orange Empire Championships ('17-'18 and '18-'19).

Sims is also the Managing Program Director of the Malcom Sims Basketball Network which is a community based organization focused on providing instruction and support to student-athletes of all ages.  The network includes basketball camps, skills development clinics, coaching clinics, basketball leagues and motivational speaking engagements.

Sims prepped at Shaker Heights High School (Shaker Heights, OH), where he was a Nike All-American, as well as an All-Ohio and 3-time Cleveland Sun News Player of the Year who averaged 27.9 points and 10.3 rebounds his senior year.  He continued his academic and athletic career at the University of Indiana (Bloomington, IN)('92-'93), before transferring to Cleveland State University (Cleveland, OH) to play for the Vikings ('93-'97) where he received their Sportsmanship Award in 1994.  

After finishing his collegiate career, Sims played professionally overseas in Portugal, as well in the United States from 1997 through 2003.  He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications from Cleveland State University (Cleveland, OH).
