Jessica Valdez began her career as a full-time Academic Counselor for student-athletes at Mt. SAC in 2018. Valdez and her colleagues provide support to over 700 student-athletes each year, helping them balance their educational and athletic pursuits.
A former community college student-athlete herself, Valdez played softball at Santa Ana College where she received her associate's degree in liberal arts. She went on to earn her bachelor's degree in human services from California State University, Fullerton, and a master's degree in education with an emphasis in counseling from California State University, Dominguez Hills.
She appreciates the opportunity to assist student-athletes in pursuing their academic and athletic goals at the community college and university levels.
When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and watching baseball games. Valdez lives in Corona with her husband, Adrian, and their daughters, Addilynn and Amelia.
