Evans Roderick

Evans Roderick has been part of the Mt. SAC Football Staff since retiring in 2006.   He spent 35 years at Mt. SAC in various capacities including 21 years as Academic Counselor for the Mt. SAC Student/Athletes. Roderick is credited for setting up the model academic support program for California Community College Student/Athletes. He remains active among Student/Athlete Academic Advisors as President of the 3C4A and sits on numerous educational boards throughout the state and nation.

Roderick arrived at Mt. SAC from Sierra Vista H.S. in 1975 and has served as Assistant Football Coach (1973-84), Head Track and Field Coach, Assistant Track and Field Coach and Assistant Meet Director of the World Famous Mt. SAC Relays.

Prior to starting his education, Evans served three years in the U.S. Army.  A standout athlete, Evans played football for the Army and for Cal Poly Pomona. At Cal Poly he was team captain and was a two-time All-Conference Defensive Back (1969 and 1970).

Roderick is a graduate of Cal Poly, Pomona (1972) with a Degree in Physical Education.  He received his Masters in Education (1977) and in  Counseling (1979) from Cal Lutheran College.

Evans and his lovely wife Anita have two sons, a daughter, 3 grandchildren and a great granddaughter.
