Debbie Cavion has been part of the Mt. SAC Family for over 4 decades, first as a Student/Athlete and currently as the Associate Dean and Associate Athletics Director. She has served the Mt. SAC Kinesiology Division in a number of other capacities including Head Women’s Soccer Coach (14 years), Head Women’s Tennis Coach (4 years), Department Chairperson (4 years) and Assistant Athletics Director.  She attended Mt. SAC and received her Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education from California State Polytechnic University at Pomona and her Master's of Education from Azusa Pacific University.

In 2018 she was named the Mt. SAC Outstanding Manager of the Year and received the Eternal Flame Award by the Mt. SAC VOICES Committee.

Debbie played on the first Women's Soccer Team at Mt. SAC and was a two time All-Conference selection and member of 2 Mt. SAC Conference Championship Winning Teams.  She continued her career at California Polytechnic University at Pomona where she was a part of the first ever Women’s Soccer Team and led the team in scoring in each of her two seasons.  

During her 14 year career as Mt. SAC’s Head Women’s Soccer Coach, she lead the Mounties to six conference titles and two state championships in 1992 and 1995.  Her 1991 team was awarded the first ever Scholar Team Award.  For her many accomplishments, Debbie was awarded the 1997 Women’s Sports Foundation/Budget Car Rental National Coach of the Year Award.  She has also been named the California Community College State Coach of the Year two times, South Coast Conference Coach of the Year five times, a charter member of the Mt. SAC Athletic Hall of Fame (athlete) and was inducted in 2006 as a member of the California Community College Soccer Hall of Fame (coach).

Along with her Mt. SAC duties, Debbie serves as the South Coast Conference (SCC) Women’s Soccer Representative and is the chair of the SCC Scholarship Committee as well as the California Community College Athletic Association Policy Committee.
