Doug Todd Awarded 2017 California Community College Coaching Achievement Award

(Concord, CA) Long time Mt. SAC Track and Field/Cross Country Coach, Doug Todd, was awarded the 2017 California Community College Coaches Association (4CA) Coaching Achievement Award.  The award was presented at the 2017 California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Spring Convention during the "Honoring our Own" Banquet.  Since taking over the cross country and track & field program in 1995, Todd has captured an amazing 12 California CCCAA State Championships (4 women’s cross country, 7 men’s track & field and 1 women’s track & field), making him the most prolific coach in Mt. SAC Athletics History.

Along with his duties as head coach, Todd has also helped promote the sports of cross country and track & field throughout the world, directing the world famous Mt. SAC Athletics Special Events which includes the Mt. SAC Relays, Mt. SAC Cross Country Invitational, LA84 Foundation Youth Days and Footlocker West Regional Cross Country Championships.

Todd has been named South Coast Conference Coach of the Year, 23 times, California Community College Cross Country Coach of the Year, 3 times and California Community College Track & Field Coach of the Year, 3 times.

The California Community College Coaching Achievement Award is given annually to honor members of the California Community College Coaching profession who show exemplary participation, dedication and contributions to their chosen sport. The recipient coach exhibits leadership and high ethical values in addition to providing an outstanding role model for student-athletes and future professionals.
