Call them the "come-from-behind kids"! The Mt. SAC Women's Soccer team, trailing in both road games this week, came from behind for the win. On Friday, in dramatic fashion the team scored three second-half goals to defeat College of the Desert, 5-4 in non-conference action.

Mt. SAC headed to the high desert and the goals flew off the shelf for both teams, but the Mounties came out with a dramatic come-from-behind win with three second-half goals.

Trailing, 2-0, in the 20th minute Mt. SAC made the first of its two comebacks in the game with two goals within a four-minute span.

Sophomore center midfielder Vanessa Plascencia (Assist by Julia Harris) scored the first of her two goals in the game at the 29-minute mark and just four minutes later in the 33rd minute. Sophomore center midfielder Evette Luna scored an unassisted goal to tie the game at 2-2. Desert would take the first-half, 3-2, lead three minutes later.

Trailing, 3-2, in the second half Desert scored in the 64th minute for the, 4-2, lead and the comeback began.

Plascencia, with an assist from sophomore center midfielder Stephania Gonzalez, scored in the 68th minute, to trail, 4-3. That was followed by two goals within two minutes from sophomore defender Carmen Rosales (Luna) in the 73rd minute to tie the game at 4-4 and the game-winner in the 75th minute by Luna (Jazmine Angulo). A comeback for the ages!

In the game the Mounties took an astounding 35 shots, 17 in the first half and 18 in the second. Luna and sophomore outside midfielder Alexis Cavalier took eight shots apiece and Cassidy Mount made four saves in the game and was the winning keeper.
