(WALNUT) The Mountie Women Soccer team, for the fourth time in five wins this season, shutout its opponent. The latest whitewash was a 2-0 victory over visiting El Camino College Friday afternoon at the Mt. SAC soccer complex in a South Coast Conference crossover game.

Two Mt. SAC goal keepers, freshman Riley Barbata (1st half) and sophomore Britain Chaputa (2nd half), combined for the shutout turning back 12 Warriors shots.

Neither team scored in the opening half of play. It took 21 minutes in to the second half for Mt. SAC to score.

In the 66th minute, sophomore forward Jordan Snowden (second goal of the season) finally got the Mounties on the scoreboard from an assist by Viviana Ortega.

Just seven minutes later in the 73rd minute, sophomore midfielder Samantha Barreto (fourth), on a goal assisted by freshman midfielder Aurora Barbosa, gave Mt. SAC an insurance goal with 17 minutes remaining in the game.

On Wednesday the Mounties travel to Long Beach City College for another crossover game in the conference. Game time is 2:00 p.m.
