Women's Head Basketball Coach Brian Crichlow Earns 200th Win

(Walnut, CACongratulations to Women's Head Basketball Coach Brian Crichlow, who earned his 200th win on Saturday, December 3, 2016, by defeating crosstown rival, Pasadena City College, 65-57, in the 40th Annual Gilcrest Tournament, hosted by the College of the Sequoias.  The Mounties went on to defeat host College of the Sequoias, 69-47 to capture the tournament championship and give Crichlow his 201st win of his career.

In his seventh season at the helm, Crichlow leads one of the most dominant women's basketball programs in the nation.  Since taking over the program during the 2010-11 season (spent 11 seasons as a Mt. SAC Assistant Coach), he has led the Mounties to an incredible record of 201 wins and only 15 losses (.931 winning percentage).  During his tenure, Crichlow has taken the team to the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Championship Final Four, six times, capturing three CCCAA State Championships, two runner-up and one third place finish.

Crichlow has also captured six consecutive South Coast Conference (SCC) Championships, earning four SCC Coach of the Year honors, SCC All-Sports Coach of the Year honors in 2015-16 and CCCAA Women's Basketball Coach of the Year honors, in 2011.

This season looks to be another season headed to the CCCAA State Championship Final Four.  The Mounties are currently the 3rd ranked team in the state with a record of 10-1.   The women's basketball team has been on a short break and will compete next at the Antelope Valley Tournament, this Friday through Sunday (December 16-18, 2016).
