(Walnut, CA) In the circle and at the plate the Olvera twins, Jessica and Jackie, led the Mt. SAC softball team to its 18th consecutive victory Tuesday afternoon over L.A. Harbor, 7-1, in a South Coast Conference crossover game.
A near perfect three innings by pitcher Jessica Olvera and two home runs by sister Jackie Olvera led the Mounties over the Seahawks.
Jessica (6-1) only gave up a second-inning walk and struck out three, while Jackie smacked two round trippers.
Jackie connected with her second home run of the season, a solo shot in the second for the 1-0 lead.
The Mounties exploded for six runs in the third, highlighted by a two-run single by Ciara Granado (1-3, R, 2 RBIs), scoring Caitlyn Felina (2-3, R, RBI, SB) and Carissa Felix.
With Ciara at second base off an error by the catcher and a walk to first baseman Michelle Banales (1-2, R), Jackie Olvera added the exclamation point in the inning with a three-run home run for the 7-0 lead.
Mt. SAC pitchers Ericka Tiscareno (2 Ks) and Briana Wheeler (4 Ks) finished up in the circle with two innings each.
