Softball Player, Kayla Sok, Named 2016 National Fastpitch Coaches Association Golden Shoe Award Winner

(Louisville, KY)  Mt. SAC Softball Speedster, Kayla Sok was named the 2016 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Golden Shoe Award Winner.  The freshman shortstop out of Glendora High School, was nearly perfect on the base paths, steeling 43 bases, in 44 attempts this past season.  Her ability to run the bases and hit (.434 Batting Average) was a big factor in the Mounties 40 win season (40-7) that garnered them a South Coast Conference Championship and a California Community College Athletic Assocation Championship So Cal Final Four appearance.

The NFCA Golden Shoe Award is presented annually to the player determined to be the most outstanding base stealer from an NFCA member institution in each of the following divisions:  NCAA (Divisions 1, 2 & 3), NAIA, NJCAA (Divisions 1, 2 & 3), California Community Colleges, NWAC and high school.
