KYREE KING WAS NAMED THE PAC-12 MEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE YEAR, DEAJAH STEVENS EARNED THE PAC-12 WOMEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE YEAR HONOR AND ROBERT JOHNSON SWEPT THE COACH OF THE YEAR AWARDS

EUGENE, Ore. - The Oregon track and field team earned a flurry of yearly awards from the Pac-12 Conference on Wednesday, with Kyree King being named the men's track athlete of the year, Deajah Stevens earning women's track athlete of the year and Robert Johnson sweeping the men's and women's coach of the year honors.

King claims the men's honor on the track after a tremendous performance at the Pac-12 Championships over the weekend. The redshirt senior was named the men's athlete of the meet after totaling a meet-high 22.5 points to help the Men of Oregon win the conference title for the 11th straight year. King won the 100 and 200 meter titles, running wind-aided times of 10.09 and 20.27, respectively, to break UO all-time records. and he also ran a leg on the Ducks' winning 4x100 team. The Ontario, Calif., native became the first Duck to sweep the 100 and 200 on the men's side since 1959. He is the sixth Duck to earn the Pac-12 men's athlete of the year award, including the second straight after Devon Allen earned the honor in 2016.

Stevens, a constant on the watch lists for the Bowerman Award, earns the honor on the women's side after becoming the fourth Oregon women's sprinter in the past six years to sweep the conference titles in the 100 and 200 meters. The junior shattered the Oregon and Pac-12 all-time records with a 22.09 showing to win the 200, the second-fastest time in NCAA history and fastest in the world this year. Like King, Stevens also ran a leg on a winning 4x100 squad to amass 22.5 points in the championship meet. Stevens earns the honor after teammate Hannah Cunliffe won it in 2016, and she is the fifth Duck in the last eight years to be honored with the award.

Johnson continues to clean up on coaching honors after being named the national women's coach of the year for the indoor season. Johnson led the Men and Women of Oregon to a ninth straight sweep of the Pac-12 team championships, and he helped guide 11 Ducks to individual titles, as well as a pair of relay wins. Since taking over as head coach, Johnson has led the Ducks to 12 conference titles and 52 individual championships. Johnson now has eight Pac-12 coach of the year awards, fice on the women's side and three on the men's side.
