(San Mateo, CA) The Mt. San Antonio College Men's Track and Field Team captured the 2015 California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Track & Field Championships, by a mere 1-point margin over College of the Sequoias (101-100), this past Saturday (05/16/15), at the College of San Mateo.  The same 1-point margin was the difference between first and second place for the women's championship, with the Mountie Women's Team taking second place behind conference rival Cerritos College, 67-68.  The Mountie Men's Track and Field Program has captured a total of 10 CCCAA State Track and Field Championships.  Their last one coming 10 years ago, in 2005.  Both men's and women's team titles were decided in the concluding 4X400M Relays.

For the Mounties 800M runner Gabriel Toscano and Pole Vaulter Reed Scale, captured individual state championships, while the 4X100M Relay Team of Erik Cisneros, Cravon Gillespie, Isaiah Kennedy and Armani McNeal ran the state's fastest time of the year, 40.00, to take the event.

MT. SAC MEN END RIVERSIDE'S 3-YEAR RUN:  Mt. San Antonio led Sequoias by three points, 93-90, entering the finale – where national community college leader COS (3:07.10) was the favorite. A second place finish would guarantee the championship for the Mounties. Sequoias won in 3:11.89 to total 100 points. Mt. SAC, in second at 3:13.79, received eight points and a final tally of 101. American River (64) was third, followed by Modesto JC (49), and three-time defending champion Riverside (43). Riverside had won six of the last seven state championships.
