Mounties Shine At Mt. SAC Seven Way Meet

(Walnut, CA)  The Mt. SAC Men's and Women's Program both shined at the Mt. SAC 6 Way Meet, which was held at Historic Hilmer Lodge Stadium.  The 5 outstanding community college teams and 2 outstanding teams, all the way from Japan, included; Chaffey College, Golden West College, Sacramento City College, Mt. San Antonio College, San Diego Mesa College, Nippon Sports Science University and Chuo University.  The Mounties scored 224 points on the women's side and 228.5 on the men's side to win the competitions.  

Tiziana Ruiz had another outstanding outing, capturing the women's pole vault and the state leading mark, with a new school record of 12'10"3/4.  Ruiz, an outstanding student in the classroom, was also named a California Community College Cross Country and Track Coaches Association Acadmeic All-American.  This favorite to capture the 2014 state title, was the last years state runner-up and is coached by the great Giovanni Lanaro (Mt. SAC Record Holder, 2X Olympian).

Mt. SAC had a total of 20 individual winners and 3 winning relays.  Click here for complete results (PDF File).

Next week the Mt. SAC Track Teams will have a bye weekend as they prepare to host over 6,000 youth, at the annual Mt. SAC Relays/LA84 Foundation Youth Days Track and Field Meet on Friday and Saturday.
