Mountie Men's Swimming & Diving Team Qualify 5 for CCCAA State Championships

(Walnut, CA) Fresh off its fifth consecutive South Coast Conference Championship, the recently crowned SCC Champion Men's team qualified four swimmers and two divers, while the women qualified four swimmers.

The state championships will be held May 3-5 at De Anza College.

Heading to his second CCCAA state championships is sophomore Spencer Chlebowski for the men. Chlebowski will be competing in the distance events – 500 and 1650 freestyle and the 200 backstroke.

Newcomers to state are freshmen Ryan Lin and Jason Harary. They will be competing in three events each plus relays.

Harary, fresh off of his two wins in the 200 and 400 individual medley in the conference championships, will be competing in the same events at state. Harary is seeded second in the 400 IM for state and fourth in the 200. Harary's third event will be the 200 backstroke.

Lin, who won both the 100 and 200 breaststroke in the conference championships, qualified for the 200 breast at state. He is also qualified for the 200 and 400 IM.

Two divers qualified for the men, Zach Justus and Andres Jaramillo. Justus also qualified for the 50 freestyle.

Both teams will have their hands full in the relays as the men are entered in five events and the women four.

Leading the way for the women's team is three time SCC Champion, Ashley Tse.

Tse, who will swim in three events, is seeded No. 1 in the 100 breaststroke and will also compete in the  200 IM along with the 100 Backstroke. Tse is seeded third in the backstroke.

The second woman swimmer to qualify is freshman Erin DeAnda in three events.

DeAnda, who also plays for the women's water polo team, will swim in the 50 and 100 freestyle and the 100 backstroke.

A state returner for the women is sophomore Jerica Djapri, who will be swimming in three events – 100 butterfly and the 100 and 200 backstroke.

Nikita Rubio completes the Mounties for entrants with two events – 100 and 200 fly.
