(Walnut, CA) Freshman Spencer Chlebowski added another award to his ever-expanding trophy case with a second individual title on day two of the South Coast Conference Swimming and Diving Championships at Mt. SAC's Marie T. Mills Aquatic Center. In addition the 800 Freestyle team took home a title.

Those victories and multiple places helped to keep the Mounties keep a firm first-place hold over Long Beach City College. Mt. SAC has 587 points, while the Vikings have 396 and Pasadena City College is third with 371 points.

Chlebowski, who is seeded first in the mile on Saturday, had a six-second victory in the 400 Individual Medley (4:13.38).

"Spencer is a really big surprise for us, winning his second individual event (Friday),"Mt. SAC Men's Swimming and Diving coach said.

He was also a member of the 800 Freestyle Relay team conference champion (7:07.24), which consisted of Renen Devito (SO), Chlebowski (FR), Ashcon Dejbakhsh (SO) and Kyle Chang (SO).

"Everyone is really swimming very well," Ruh said. "I think we will have a couple more state qualifiers than we originally thought after this weekend.

"We had to overcome an early setback in the prelims session when Renen (Devito) false-started in the 200 Freestyle. We rebounded well and he led off the victorious 800 Freestyle Relay with a first-leg time of 1:44.10. That was a very fast time and it was a total team effort."

Chang, who swam last year in the state meet, was third in the 200 Free (1:43.55), while sophomore Bryan Calderon placed second in the 100 Breastroke (58.89). The Mounties had four swimmers finish in the top eight in the 100 Breast, which gave them 57 points.
