(San Bernardino, Ca) The Mt. SAC Men's Basketball team ran into one of the state's top teams on Friday night and fell, 81-65, to San Bernardino Valley College. With the loss the Mounties fell to 10-7, while SBVC upped its record to 15-5.

Mt. SAC, which finished tied for first with East Los Angeles College last season, will begin South Coast Conference North action on Wednesday January 18. The Mounties will travel to play at ELAC. Game time is 5:00 pm.

Mt. SAC was led by two players in double figures, sophomore AJ McLaurin with 13 points and five rebounds and sophomore G/F Isaiah Watson had 11.

The Wolverines were led by a game-high 24 points from Brandon Jolley.

The Wolverines, ranked third in the state, started fast as they got out to a 16-4 lead before Mt. SAC went on an 8-0 run to only trail by four points later in the half.

"We battled our way back after trailing, 16-4, but as the game continued we never gained much momentum," Mt. SAC coach Clark Maloney said.
