Mt. SAC Athletics Names John Knott New Professor of Kinesiology/Head Baseball Coach

(Walnut, CA) After an extensive search, John Knott has been named the new Professor of Kinesiology and Head Baseball Coach at Mt. San Antonio College.  Knott is one of the most successful high school baseball coaches in the area, having developed the powerhouse Bonita High School Baseball Program.  In 2012, he led the Bearcats to the CIF Championship winning 30 games and going undefeated in league play (12-0).  Knott has had 15 consecutive winning seasons, has led his teams to 9 CIF Play-Off appearances and has compiled an overall record of 246-75-2 (.762 winning %) and a league record of 103-33 (.752 winning %)(stats as of 05/09/16).

"I am proud to announce that John Knott has been named our new Professor of Kinesiology and Head Baseball Coach," replied Mt. SAC Athletics Director, Joe Jennum.  "Coach Knott's proven track record in baseball, teaching experience in the classroom and connections to the local community were significant factors in our decision to have him lead our program forward."

Since his arrival on the La Verne campus in 2005, Knott has garnered a number of top coaching honors including; 2013 California Baseball Coach of the Year, 2012 CIF Coach of the Year, 2012 San Gabriel Valley Coach of the Year and 2010 & 2012 Daily Bulletin Coach of the Year. 

Prior to his arrival at Bonita High School, Knott coached at San Dimas High School and Azusa Pacific University.  He is a graduate of Azusa Pacific University where he received his masters degree in Physical Education and bachelors degree in Psychology.
