Stan Gonta Inducted Into The CCC Women's Golf Coaches Association Hall of Fame

(Temecula, CA)  Retired Mt. SAC Professor and Golf Coach, Stan Gonta, was honored as the Charter Inductee of the California Community College (CCC) Women's Golf Coaches Association Hall of Fame.  Gonta was unanimously selected by his peers for his leadership in helping develop women's golf at the community college level as well as his championship winning teams.

Gonta coached teams captured 5 women's state championships as well as a men's state championship in 2004.  He has captured more CCC Women's Golf State Championships than any other coach.  His 1998 and 1999 teams were undefeated enroute to their state championships.

Gonta joined the Mt. SAC Family in 1965 after a stellar athletic career at USC where he was part of the 1962 National Championship Football Team.  He served the college in the Physical Education and Athletic Department as a professor, football coach and golf coach until his retirement in 2004. 

Gonta, a PGA Professional, currently resides in Bend, Oregon and in Indio, California, where he continues to share his golf expertise with others.
